Jehan is using his arms!

He has finally learned that his arms can be used to do stuff... like push ups. He's about a month late on this one. I love the effect of the drool dripping from his chin in this picture. He is really working hard on developing the hand-eye coordination. He will concentrate on his right hand and watch it as he punches himself in the eye with it. Then, moving his mouth up to his hand, he tries to shove it in. Meanwhile, his left arm only does one thing: flap. He just keeps hitting himself in the side over and over again... thunk, thunk, thunk, thunk.... He looks like he thinks if he could only flap it a little faster, he might take flight.

A few more pictures of Jehan from the last week:

This one shows what he thought of having his picture taken so many times.

Here he was hanging out with Nanna and we noticed he'd pulled his right leg up just like his daddy as seen in the next picture.

Jehan is so happy to hang out with Daddy! He only lets Daddy and Nanna watch TV. If Mummy sits down all hell breaks loose!

I'm so proud of Firdosh. He took the PE yesterday. I can't imagine taking an 8-hour exam! What a guy.

Photo shoot of the cutest baby boy alive

I can't get over his cuteness. We took lots of pictures and are planning to take more in the morning when he's in a good mood again.

A shark for Halloween?

Our neighbors loaned us their baby shark costume. I think he's the happiest and cutest little shark.

I think he's too little, we're supposed to throw him back but I think we'll keep him anyway ;) For those of you who don't know, that's our fabulous neighbor Mike.

A subtle hint

that it's time for dinner. He used to suck my face only occasionally when he was really desperate. Lately it's been every time he gets hungry. At least he is learning to communicate more clearly ;)

The perfect solution

to sticking the hands in the mouth during dinner: feed him in the straight jacket!

The family addiction

Smoking companies like to start kids young, and it looks like Firdosh thinks the same. From what I hear, the banana addiction runs in the family and it looks like Jehan will be one of those affected. We'll see how long it takes him to start begging (with Ally) every time Firdosh takes a hit. . . I mean eats a banana.

Jehan is finally grabbing things!

He even got his feet in his mouth.

After grabbing his feet he moved on to toys. He actually entertained himself for a few hours. That's a first!

My boy is all grown up

Jehan slept in his bassinet for the first time last night. He slept like a baby. I cried. Before I know it he'll be off to college. It's so hard to let go! I kept waking up all night and wanting to check on him to make sure he was ok. Hopefully tonight I'll be too tired to wake up quite as many times :(

I gave him a little wild berry flavored apple sauce today for the first time. It has added corn syrup so it's really too sweet and I shouldn't have given it to him. I was eating the apple sauce with one hand and holding him in the other and he got a whiff and almost took a nose dive trying to get at it. I couldn't disappoint him. He was so eager to get some! Maybe I'll give him a bit more and have the camera ready tomorrow. The pink apple sauce looked like lip gloss. It was so pretty!

No pictures for this one!

Jehan has found his little boy parts. As soon as the daiper comes off his little hands are right there. At first I really thought he had no idea what he was doing but he's been pretty consistent the last few days! At least today he was grabbing his feet so maybe he'll move on now. It didn't occur to me until today that his baby book has a place to put the date he discovers his hands and feet, but not those other parts ;) I thought I'd better blog about it to mark the occasion.

Jehan likes rice cereal

We gave him some for the first time last night. He ate a little but wasn't too excited about it. This morning when he got hungry I gave him some more. He was a little fussy so I wasn't sure how he would take it but as soon as he saw that spoon coming he opened his mouth wide. I couldn't shovel it in fast enough. He was so impatient he started crying between each bite, wanting the next before he had finished swallowing the last. Looks like he takes after his mummy liking food too much. Poor guy.

My baby can stand!

He's been doing it for a few days now and I finally got a picture. I just love to see his chubby little knees! He gets so excited by his new skills though you couldn't tell from this picture. He likes to bounce... as I'm sure all babies do at this stage. Sooo cute! He still isn't rolling but he was close yesterday and we'll get there soon enough.

Here are a couple more pictures I think are cute. I especially like his baby bag. He has been sleeping in a straight jacket since he was born so he isn't sleeping in the baby bag at night yet, but he will have to when it gets cold. I'm trying to get him to sleep in it during his naps.

What to do with so many toys?

Chew on the hands!

We are trying to encourage him to start reaching and grabbing for things. He still doesn't realize his hands are more than convenient chew toys.
